Laurentide Controls and Atlantic Controls welcomed over 60 guests at their office on November 14-15 in Montreal and on November 21-22 in Saint John for a Reliability Conference. Over the two-day events, participants had direct access to the insight of a dozen speakers, case studies and best practices shared by their peers, as well as reliability tools & strategies of today and tomorrow.

Laurentide Controls has recently acquired Contrôle-Max, a specialized instrumentation service company that has been active in the pharmaceutical industry since 1989. This acquisition expands Laurentide Controls’ capabilities to provide innovative solutions for its industrial customers throughout Eastern Canada and reinforces its ability to optimize its client’s production while reducing operating costs.
The companies’ combined expertise and capabilities will provide existing and future customers a wider variety of specialized services, notably in the pharmaceutical industry. Clients will benefit from Contrôle-Max’s services for precision equipment; including calibration, its mobile service as well as the certification of new and used equipment in accordance with government and manufacturer standards. Moreover, they can be a key partner in planning and acquiring precision equipment. Contrôle-Max can perform equipment repairs as well as controlled environment testing in its laboratory.
“Our work is to make calibration an added value service and ensure quality for our clients to leverage in their own markets”, writes Marc Morissette, President of Contrôle-Max, who has been working in the calibration industry for nearly 30 years.
“Our objective, to be a partner in our clients’ success, continues with planned interventions and a regular presence by our certified technicians. The addition of this service will enable us to better serve our clients together in industrial instrumentation, electricity and calibration”, says François Houle, Business Unit Director – Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical at Laurentide Controls.
For the time being, the two companies will continue their usual activities and Contrôle-Max will continue operating under their current brand. The full integration of the two entities is expected by December 2019.
