Mercuriades 2022: Laurentide is a finalist in the CN Training and Workforce Development category

March 25, 2022
Today, March 25, the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) announced the finalists of the Mercuriades' 42nd edition. Laurentide Controls is a finalist in the Training and Workforce Development category of this prestigious business competition thanks to its Reliability University initiative.
This program offers a creative solution to the needs of professionals, businesses and industry in Quebec.

The goal of industrial reliability is to avoid machinery breakdowns that lead to costly production shutdowns, thereby maximizing plant profitability. Reliability specialists are in high demand in Quebec, but the scarcity of specialists trained in this discipline makes it difficult to carry out projects that can help local industries prosper.

With the Reliability University, Laurentide has created a simple but bold concept:

50 junior engineers (10 per year), most of them fresh out of university, are trained over three years, both formally and at client sites and according to a precise learning schedule.

The engineers recruited are true full-time employees. However, they divide their time between technical mentoring by senior consultants, theoretical training with our trainers, and work at our clients' sites.

Through this innovative approach, we actively participate in the professional development of new employees while helping industry thrive.

Michel Brisebois, Ing. Projects and Training Team Director, was present at the virtual finalist award ceremony organized by the FCCQ to receive our nomination.
The winners will be announced at a gala held by the FCCQ on May 2, 2022 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
