Course Content

In this course, you will learn to:

  • Explain the ASME code requirements for safety valves
  • Identify the different safety valve technologies and how to select them for the right applications
  • Size safety valves to API 520 Part I, and practice in the free PRV2 selection software
  • Identify code requirements for proper valve installation

  • Code requirements: ASME/API and NBIC
  • Design of different valve technologies
  • Hands-on valve sizing workshop
  • Valve selection by application/industry type
  • Code requirements: installation, piping
