Boost Product Quality and Efficiency with Better Instrumentation Practices

In an industrial plant, having precise, well-configured instruments can make the difference between an approximate process output and predictable product quality. It can also mean less input waste and better energy use, not to mention a safer plant.

This course aims to increase the technician's knowledge, confidence and comfort level with instrumentation. By gaining those skills, the participant will be able to intervene on the plant's instruments in a way that benefits the process as a whole.

What can you expect from this training?

This course allows participants to master the basic knowledge of lnstrumentation.

lt includes a theoretical component and practical work, with real cases using transmitters, while encouraging exchanges between participants.

Following this training, the participant will be able to master the basics of instrumentation, focusing on installation, calibration, troubleshooting and configuration.

This new knowledge and confidence will allow them to make better instrumentation decisions that will positively impact process efficiency and output quality.

Basic Notions

  • Control Loop, manual and automatic controls, type of control (standard, cascade, feedforward, ratio ), control mode - PID, direct acting and reverse acting control, ISA standards, P&ID drawings
  • Instrumentation drawings, Fluke calibrators, AMS Trex communicator

  • Temperature sensors, thermowell, transmitter, troubleshooting

Pressure Measurement

  • Measurement principles, sensor types, manifolds, accessories, configuration and calibration
