Laurentide Controls History

1968
The company is founded under the name Wayne L. McGee Company.
1978
The Wayne L. McGee Company becomes Laurentide Controls.
1988
Laurentide Controls purchases Atlantic Controls, which was the Fisher representative in the Maritimes.
1992
the company launches an internal quality process under the name of Total Customer Commitment.
1999
Laurentide Controls and Rosemount Instruments Limited are integrated including pressure, temperature, level and flow instrumentation, Micro-Motion and Rosemount Analytical.
2001
Fisher-Rosemount is re-branded as Emerson Process Management. Laurentide Controls becomes the local representative for CSI, consultants for maintenance management & manufacturers of vibration monitoring, thermography & oil analysis equipment.
2002
Proaxion, a local provider of vibration and maintenance services, is acquired.
2003
The company opens an office in Chicoutimi. Emerson Instrument & Valve Services opens a branch in the same facility.
2006
Laurentide Controls continues to grow, now employing 120 employees.

2007
Laurentide expands it facility to over 40,000 square feet. Emerson Instrument & Valve Services relocates to Laurentide’s facility.

Laurentide/Atlantic opens an office in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Laurentide Controls becomes the distributor for : Velan, FluoroSeal, ABZ Valves, VCI, Topworx, Rosemount Gas Analytical.Laurentide/Atlantic Controls expands its Saint John facility (New Brunswick) to 9000 sq ft including a 2000 sq ft I&VS facility.

2011
SIE is now a division of Laurentide Controls. Since 1949, SIE has been a manucturer’s representative for industrial, commercial, and residential plumbing and heating. The products represented include Heat-Timer, Danfoss and Fulflo. SIE is an A.S.M.E. certified assembler for safety valves.

Laurentide Controls is now the official representative and distributor of UE Systems for Quebec.

2012 SIE relocated its assembly and safety relief valve repair shop to the Laurentide Controls building at: 18000 Trans-Canada Highway, Kirkland, QC, H9J 4A1.

Industriels Valves & Raccords Quémau Inc. (IVRQ), located in Boisbriand, QC, is now a division of Laurentide Controls Ltd. IVRQ has been providing solutions to the industrial and municipal clients in Quebec since 1989.

Laurentide Controls’ Montreal laboratory is accredited ISO 17025 by the Standards Council of Canada and the National Research Council of Canada.

2013 Laurentide Controls Ltd. is now an official distributor for Chemline Plastics. Chemline Plastics is the market leader in Canada for thermoplastic valves & fittings.

2015 Laurentide Controls hires fifty new employees and the business grows by over 20%.

The company implements an important restructuring of six business units in order to enhance the focus on those businesses.

2016 The company creates a new Business Unit, Education, which provides a broad range of learning and development paths for its customers. The Atlantic Controls team expands with a new 10,000 sq, ft facility in St-John’s, Newfoundland.

2017 Emerson acquires Pentair Valves & Controls, product leaders in the valve industry. With this acquisition, Laurentide Controls, an Emerson local business partner, is now able to offer the most complete valve solutions portfolio and most extensive service network available to its customers.

Laurentide Controls acquires Contrôle-Max, a specialized instrumentation service company. This acquisition expands Laurentide Controls’ capabilities to provide innovative solutions for its industrial customers throughout Eastern Canada.
